Now, CFTO has details on the company's record annual loss. "Sony has recorded its worst year on record taking a 5.7 billion — that's billion dollar hit. The company had a 10 percent drop in sales this year, moving fewer tvs, cameras, game consoles and computers." Venture Beat reports on several reasons contributing to the drop. "Sony pointed to supplier and factory damage in Japan — a result of last year's earthquake and tsunami — as a big reason for its poor year. The company was also impacted by the floods in Thailand last year, which affected its production suppliers." Compared to today's tech titans, Sony has lots of ground to gain. The BBC explains. "Basically, Sony is living and competing in the world of Apple and Samsung. It's fair to say the American and South Korean firms are giving us only an absolute hiding. To show you the gap of the difference Sony's worth is only three percent of Apple and only eight percent of Samsung." According the Associated Press Sony is aiming for a comeback under the company's appointed president Kazuo Hirai, Sony forecast a return to profit for the fiscal year through March 2013 at 375 million dollars, banking on the growing smartphone and tablet business, as well as a recovery from last year's disasters. CNET reports Sony is confident next fiscal year will be much better, despite all the tough decisions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Source:youtube Added:05/11/12 7 views ![]() ![]() Live with Walkman de Sony Ericsson Hands-on Live with Walkman de Sony Ericsson Hands-on Hands-On del nuevo lanzamiento de Sony Ericsson, Live with Walkman.
